Which system versions are supported?

The HKA-APP is supported from iOS 9.

Why do the updates only work on iOS 8?

As from version 4.0, only iOS 9 and higher is supported. Therefore, the app is suitable for iPhone and iPad.

How do I select a semester schedule?

Navigate to the settings and click on “Switch/Select calendar”. Then click on the “+” button. You will then be offered the options “Select from list” and “Add own”. Under the option “Select from list” you have the possibility to select the semester timetable of your study program. Under the option “Add your own” you can add your own calendar or, as a WI student, your personal calendar.

How do I transfer my semester schedule to the calendar?

You have to open the HKA-APP and then navigate to ‘Timetable’. At the + - sign you can choose your study program and your semester. At the pop-up message you click on ‘subscribe’. Then click on ‘Events’ at the next message and your calendar app will open. Here you will find all events of the selected semester.

How do I transfer my personal schedule to the calendar?

To do so, call up the Intranet with your smartphone and log in with your IZ login data. Then navigate to the “External” section and click on “iCal link”. Next, click on “Link to iCal file” and download the calendar file to your smartphone. After downloading, open the file and a window will open with the option to add the timetable to your calendar app. Click on “Add” in the upper right corner. Open your calendar app to verify the successful transfer of your personalized timetable. If you have any further questions or problems, please contact our support.

Why does the app need access to the calendar?

From version 3.0 a new framework is used to manage the calendars. Therefore, it is now possible to subscribe to multiple calendars and switch between them. A selected calendar is saved as a “calendar subscription” in the Apple calendar. This way your iPhone automatically takes care of keeping your calendar up to date. In order to display this calendar in the HKA-APP , we need the permission to access your calendar.

How to delete a calendar subscription?

An existing subscription can be deleted in the settings of your iPhone under: [Settings / Mail / Contacts / Calendar].

How can I activate the HKA-APP Mensa widget?

Press on any widget to go to the edit view. After that press the “+” button. Then scroll all the way down and you should see a list of all the apps you have installed that provide a widget. Find the “Mensa” widget in the list and then click on “Add widget”.

How can I use the built-in iOS Spotlight search?

To do this, simply enter what you would like to search for in the Spotlight search, e.g. the name of a professor, and you will see the search results under the “HSKAMPUS” tab.

Why are no attached files shown with the news?

Unfortunately this is not possible at the moment. To view the attachment, click on the source link, this will redirect you to the intranet via Safari where you can view the attachment as usual.
