Milestones
These are the most important milestones in the development of HKA-APP:
New News Channels
In the course of the redesign of the Hskampus website, among other things, the display of news from Hskampus and the faculties has been restructured. Accordingly, the news in the Hskampus will reorganize and expanded. Each faculty now has a “public” and an internal news channel. In addition, some faculties post news from study programs or student councils. However, not all faculties currently use these channels. In addition to general news, the HKA also publishes detailed information about studying and student advising.
New CD
On April 21, 2021, the new corporate design, and the new website of Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, was presented to the public. The central element of the recent appearance of Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences is a new university logo: The abbreviation “Hskampus” (graphically +|KA) is composed of stylized mathematical operators. By the new CD of the HKA, the name, logo, and design of Hskampus have been adapted: HKA-APP is now used throughout all clients, sites, and publications.
The student app HsKAmpus dares to compare with UniNow
In a press release, a comparison was dared with the leading app UniNow - Die App für’s Studium, the app for studies and careers, which presents itself as a solution for students, universities, and companies throughout Germany.
Update: iOS (incl. Apple Watch) and Android have been enhanced with widgets.
The HsKAmpus app has introduced widgets for individual functions for convenient use. An Android user can now use the canteen and timetable function outside the app. For iOS users, the Mensa and News functions are available as widgets. In addition, we now have an implementation of the Mensa, News, and Grades function on the Apple Watch.
Update: New functions
New essential features have been added to the HsKAmpus app this year. Students can now use the Learning Places, News, and Badge Reader functions.
HsKAmpus now also available as a webapp
This year the platforms iOS, Android, and Windows were extended by WebApp. Now students can easily log into their favorite app from any browser.
Building the basic functionalities and the extension of a new platform
This year, under the supervision of Prof. Manfred Seifert and Daniel Weisser, the students were able to extend the application to include the Windows platform. In addition, the first graphical adaptations of the various operating platforms and the extension of the primary functions grade sheet and Mensa were made.
The foundation of HsKAmpus
The HsKAmpus project was launched in the summer semester of 2012 by Prof. Manfred Seifert and Daniel Weisser. “With the first version, the students have made a good start,” says project leader Prof. Dr. Manfred Seifert. The application was developed for iOS and Android and included the functions: Campus, Schedule, Grades, and People.
